WHAT IS SCAR CAMOUFLAGE WITH INK? Scar camouflage is a safe method of tattooing that fills in scars with pigments that match the surrounding skin. Each client receives a custom color on the day of their appointment. After filling the scar with skin-colored pigments, the healing process takes about 3 weeks. Once the skin has healed, the scars appear "invisible" to the human eye. This treatment provides permanent results, generally two sessions are needed, but treatment sessions may vary depending on the severity of the case. HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST? 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the area. HOW FAST WILL I SEE RESULTS? 28 to 90 days after your initial treatment. SHALL I WAIT? After treatment, you may experience mild irritation, redness, and swelling that may last up to a week. During the third week, the treated area will darken slightly. DO NOT PANIC. It is healing. Once this goes away, you will begin to see the results of your treatment. We recommend booking a follow-up 6-8 weeks after your treatment for a touch-up. HOW LONG DOES RESULTS LAST? Scar camouflage provides permanent results if aftercare steps are followed properly. After several years, a color boost may be necessary. CONTRAINDICATIONS Please read the following contraindications for this procedure and when it is NOT recommended: ​ - Stretch marks or Pink Scars (new). - Scars should no longer be pink. - Must be at least 1 year old. - Pregnant or lactating. - Diabetic - Prone to hyperpigmentation - Problems with keloids or scars. - Use of accutane and/or retinol (in the last 6 months). - Undergo chemotherapy - Must be 18 years or older.
